Pacific Northwest Part 5 of ? – Port Townsend, WA by Sailboat

I made a new friend in Port Townsend, WA.  Scott took Sarah and I on a sailboat outing.  It was my first sailboat ride!

What a  feeling.  So close to the water,  the wind really carries you quickly, smoothly (thankfully, that day, no sea sickness which I can be prone to.)

What you see below is a view towards the town.  The main street is so much fun to stroll along.

Graceful old houses line the blufftop above town. That ‘s where I snapped a panoramic pic.

Closer in. I just love it when old lettering clings to a wall.

A passenger/car ferry with the Olympic Mountains in the background.

A boat meant for work – the Tebenkof.  I looked it up. It’s possible to enter a boat’s name, online, and learn of its use, origination, builder, home port, etc. Really interesting!

I had a blast, there, and returned for a bit more time after crossing the Straight to Vancouver.

Next post, much missed time above treeline.
